Coordinator, Donor Services
*This position is 100% onsite. Candidates must reside within the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area to attend work office Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm*
Under the direction of the Director, Donor Services, the Coordinator, Donor Services is responsible for managing and maintaining constituent data received by The ALS Association through mail, email, and phone. This role processes incoming donations, including scanning checks, preparing deposit information for integration with the Association’s accounting system, and managing donor acknowledgment and notification correspondence. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate, efficient, and timely processing of donations, while supporting responsive donor engagement. The Coordinator is essential to maintaining data integrity across systems and delivering a positive, seamless donor experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Core duties and responsibilities include the following.
- Ensure the processing of all mail, checks, and cash.
- Maintain the security of donations and checks.
- Uphold the system of retention, rotation, and secure destruction of donation checks per Association policy.
- Update biographical information in constituent records to maintain accurate constituent profiles.
- Provide donor support utilizing platforms such as Salesforce, Fundraise Up, and Luminate Online.
- Process checks and cash donations following special events.
- Process incoming matching gift requests.
- Provide follow-up to constituent outreach through phone, email, or mail.
- Organize electronic and physical documentation records for multiple locations and departments.
- Manage the filing, organization, and information sharing of legal documentation related to planned giving and grants.
- Work collaboratively with the Manager, Donor Services to support the day-to-day hub operations and follow established donor services procedures.
- May be required to attend occasional local association event(s) outside of scheduled hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education and/or background in accounting or business-related experience totaling 1 year or more.
- Data entry experience and superior attention to detail.
- Relevant experience in a not-for-profit organization is highly desirable.
- Salesforce or CRM platform knowledge is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Ability to work within deadlines, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and recommend best practices.
The ALS Association’s pay range for this position is $20.68 – $22.81 per hour.
The ALS Association has compensation ranges for various work locations throughout the United States, allowing us to compensate employees competitively and consistently in diverse geographic markets. The above-listed listed range shows prospective compensation for this role; the appropriate range will be established by what is eventually determined to be the candidate's primary work location. Various factors, including the complexity and significance of the role, job duties/requirements, relevant experience and abilities, and primary work location, determine individual compensation. Compensation ranges are evaluated and typically adjusted on a regular basis. Offers are made within the compensation range that is in effect at the time of the job offer.
The Association may, at its discretion, offer merit-based increases tied to individual performance. The benefits listed may differ depending on employment status with the Association.
